- Body Frame
-
- An automobile may
- seem solid, but,
- each part is
- individually
- attached to a
- supporting frame.
- Most cars have a
- conventional body
- frame that is, in
- fact, two or more
- pieces that have
- been welded
- together. Quarter
- panels, doors, the
- engine are all
- mounted to the
- frame by rivets or
- welds. Some cars
- have a unibody
- frame that is one
- solid piece instead
- of several welded
- together. Unibody
- cars generally have
- a better crash
- resistance than the
- conventional framed
- car.
